About " K.F. Breene "

  • K.F. Breene

K.F Breene is a USA TODAY BESTSELLING author of the Darkness Series and Warrior Chronicles She lives in wine country where over every rolling hill, or behind every cow, an evil sorcerer might be plotting his next villainous deed while holding a bottle of wine and brick of cheese Her husband thinks she s cracked for wandering around, muttering about magic and swords Her kids are on board with her fantastical imagination, except when the description of the monsters becomes too real. She ll wait until they re older to tell them that monsters are real, and so is the magic to fight them She wants them to sleep through the night, after all

  • I love K.F Breene, but I didn t like this book I will not even rate it, I feel too blah and meh at this point Incoherent rant alert The romance factor was really weird IMO The vampire Darius kisses the h Reagan, they dry humped, then he invites her over his house After dinner h asks another vampire where Darius is The answer He s feeding and having sex with OW.This didn t fly with me well Darius will clearly become her love interest in the upcoming books, he s very protective of her and there wa [...]

  • So tempted to give this five stars Just finished it and I m itching to read it again This clinches it, Breene is top 5 favorite author.I need go read the rest of her books. She writes SUCH great strong female leads So So SO recommended 5.4.17 Update I keep re reading this book in hopes that the second one will be released soon Should be coming out this week or next.

  • So much better than I anticipated The writing was good and the characters were interesting and appealing Reagan is a great lead character because she s snarky but smart, cautious but brave, and she acknowledges her attraction to Darius but has enough self control to stop herself from making mistakes I actually love the dynamic between Darius and Reagan I find that the best relationships in books start out this way I will be anxiously awaiting the sequels and will be checking out the author s oth [...]

  • I felt like this book tried to be than it was It had a little of all the classic UF stuff i.e snarky heroine, heroine with special powers, unexpected sidekicks, hidden background None of it melded into anything unique Reagan had too much attitude It was practically impossible for her to be serious no matter how dire the consequences Sometimes it worked to her advantage because her behavior surprised others Other times she seemed immature Maybe it was just me but for about the first half of the [...]

  • I was in the mood for a good paranormal romance and saw what amazing reviews this series had so I decided to give it a try It was just ok for me I did like the heroine and the fast moving plot, but the lack of closure upon completion and the non existent romance didn t work for me I may still give book 2 a try at a later date.

  • 3.5 Entertaining read in Kate Daniels style sward wielding snarky heroine with daddy issue, except Illona Andrews does it better bow to the Master Nerveless, I liked the characters, the writing and story line were good so it is on Next book, please list.

  • Woah I didn t think I could love K.F.Breene any than I already do, but this book has me falling for her writing all over again The Warrior Chronicles is among one of the top fantasy series that I love, and I was so sad when it ended But I think this new series than makes up for it Reagan is different from Shanti, but she is still kickass, snarky and awesome That s my favorite part about K.F.Breene s heroines. They never disappoint me Reagan is a bounty hunter, but it doesn t bring in a lot of cas [...]

  • Highly entertaining read I thought the h Darius interactions hilarious Will read the next book in this series.

  • The introduction to Reagan Somerset s world and its various creatures that she encounters in her everyday job as a supernatural bounty hunter.Reagan s job does not give her a steady paycheck and when her latest mark is stolen by vampires, she is getting desperate for another one That s what pushes her to accept the vampires offer for a job that she would have otherwise refused, especially since it involves partnering with Darius, the vampire who stole her mark, for the duration Darius is undenia [...]

  • It has been a long time since I have found a book on kindle unlimited that wasn t meh This was a very solid novel that had me glued to my seat I almost didn t take a chance on it, but I m very glad I did. There are heroines out there that I feel are trying to hard to be like another book s Trying to cash in on another series feel Maybe that was one of my problems when I was considering this How can this book be unique enough to be of interest Well, turned out it could and did turn out to be of in [...]

  • The similarities between this and the Kate Daniels isn t hard to miss Usually i don t mind it, especially if i liked the first one, but this time it didn t do it for me I couldn t really relate to any of the characters and i really didn t understand the thing between Darius and Reagan Probably because I didn t like Darius.

  • Good writing check Good plot checkBadass heroine with hilarious sarcastic dialogue double checkNon instalove check and checkWhat could you ask for a second book obviously

  • Changing from TBR to Maybe as I m reevaluating if I want to read this or not after catching some iffy reviews review show review show review show

  • A solid 4.5 stars This book had me engaged almost from the beginning I stayed up late so I could read it Who cares if I had to get up at 5am Certainly not me The main character, Reagan, reminded me of Kate Daniels but not in a rip off kind of way They both are loners trying to hide certain aspects of their lives and are mercenaries I was a little confused by some of the stuff going on, though it didn t distract from the story I was too damn intrigued by the unraveling story I loved the side char [...]

  • A great start to a new fantastic UF series First book in a new Urban Fantasy seriesFirst and foremost I must say that I loved this book Had me hooked from beginning to end Fun and entertaining. The book is about Reagan who works as a supernatural bounty hunter in New Orleans and The Realm This story has it all magic, vampires, shifters, a magical realm and that I won t reveal because of spoilers Reagan is a strong independant woman who does not need to be rescued by a man She s sassy and at time [...]

  • 5 holy tater tit stars I LOVED THIS Seriously, Miss Breene herself claims it is not a romance, however happily I would like to disagree We can agree to disagree The tension between Reagan and Darius makes me downright smitten Reagan is hilarious Her internal dialogue had me grinning ear to ear throughout the entire book The fact that she is a bad ass heroin who can pretty much take care of herself and others in the male variety has giddy Bravo On to book 2

  • I really like the start to this series Reagan is a kick ass woman who has some secrets that could get her in a lot of trouble She is a freelance bounty hunter, a magic user, stubborn, opinionated, very fast, and takes no prisoners She is force to team up with Darius when he steals one of her bounties.Darius is an Elder Vampire, but not the oldest He needs assistance in tracking down the individual s responsible for killing some powerful creatures who are under the vampires care He is insulting, [...]

  • Born in Fire is the first book in the Fire Ice Trilogy I really wanted to love this book All the reviews promised laugh out loud with a kick ass heroine Kick ass was true, laugh out loud not so much for me I did enjoy Reagan s smart ass comments, but at times it came across cheesy At first the storyline was confusing It did eventually come together and make sense All in all an enjoyable read and I will continue to the next one.

  • First book I ve read by K F Breene This was a quick entertaining read Reagan, the MC, is witty, funny, sarcastic, and sassy I liked her character and can t wait to see how she evolves in the series I actually listened to this book on Audible and the reader does an excellent performance with multiple character voices The only issue that I had was that I didn t feel much of a connection between Reagan and her possible love interest, Darius I m not sure if this is due to the actors voice and demean [...]

  • Excellent start to a new series I hope they are all this good, I liked her last series, the Warrior Chronicles Some worldbuilding issues, mostly things that are not well explained in the book Been a while since I could award the kick ass heroine tag to a book.
